Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A long-term care, closed-door mail order pharmacy is seeking a Maryland-licensed pharmacist to join their team as the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) for a part-time, ongoing opportunity. This role offers 16 hours per week, working Monday and Wednesday from 7 AM to 3 PM, supported by a strong team of six pharmacy technicians and multiple pharmacists and PICs.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily pharmacy operations within the LTC pharmacy, ensuring compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations.
• Supervise pharmacy staff, including pharmacists and technicians, to maintain workflow efficiency and accuracy.
• Review, verify, and approve prescriptions and medication orders to ensure safe and effective therapy for long-term care patients.
• Implement and maintain quality assurance programs, controlled substance compliance, policies, and documentation standards.
• Collaborate closely with facility staff, healthcare providers, and nursing teams to optimize patient care and medication management.
• Provide support in sterile compounding and clean room operations if experienced and comfortable in an IV environment.

Qualifications:

• Active Maryland pharmacist license required.
• Licenses in AL, AR, CA, LA, NE, OK, OR, or TX are preferred but not required to start.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in pharmacy management is preferred.
• At least 2 years of recent experience in long-term care or mail order pharmacy settings is required.
• Sterile compounding experience is a plus but not mandatory.

• This position is based in a closed-door mail order pharmacy within Maryland, accessible for part-time onsite work.
