At Homewatch CareGivers of Portland, we believe caregiving is about more than simply showing up — it's about changing lives. We're looking for a Field Supervisor who enjoys working with people, believes in accountability, communicates with confidence and compassion, and wants to play a meaningful role in supporting both our clients and our caregiving team.
This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys variety, and is energized by solving problems, supporting employees, and ensuring our clients receive five-star care every time.
No two days are the same. One morning you may be conducting a client supervisory visit, the afternoon coaching a caregiver, documenting assessments, collaborating with our nursing team, or helping solve a scheduling challenge. If you enjoy staying busy, wearing multiple hats, and making a real impact every day, we'd love to meet you.
What You'll DoAs our Field Supervisor, you will serve as the primary support person for caregivers working in the field while ensuring our clients continue to receive exceptional care.
Responsibilities include:
Conduct supervisory visits with clients in their homes.
Build positive relationships with clients, families, and caregivers.
Coach, mentor, and support caregivers in the field.
Address performance concerns promptly through coaching and minor disciplinary follow-up.
Document client assessments, supervisory visits, caregiver performance, and conversations thoroughly and professionally.
Collaborate closely with our Director of Operations and nursing team.
Assist with caregiver scheduling and staffing needs when necessary.
Help identify concerns before they become larger problems.
Maintain accurate records and ensure documentation is completed in a timely manner.
Shadow caregivers when appropriate to provide coaching and support.
Occasionally provide direct caregiving coverage when operational needs require it.
Represent the company professionally both in the office and in clients' homes.
The ideal candidate is someone who naturally takes ownership of their work, communicates clearly, and enjoys helping others succeed.
You should be:
Friendly, approachable, and genuinely enjoy working with people.
Comfortable holding others accountable while treating them with dignity and respect.
Organized and highly detail-oriented.
Able to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
An excellent written communicator with strong documentation skills.
Professional, dependable, and punctual.
Comfortable giving direct, constructive feedback.
Able to adapt quickly as priorities change throughout the day.

Able to build trust while maintaining professional boundaries.
Someone who notices details others miss.
Previous supervisory or leadership experience.
Valid driver's license.
Current automobile insurance.
Reliable personal vehicle.
Ability to travel throughout the Portland metro area during the workday.
Ability to lift at least 40 pounds.
Strong computer proficiency, including:
Microsoft Word
Microsoft Excel
Microsoft Outlook
Microsoft Teams
Strong typing skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
Ability to pass all required background checks and employment screenings.
U.S. work authorization.
Previous caregiving experience.
Experience working in home care, healthcare, senior services, or other human services.
Experience working alongside nurses or other healthcare professionals.
Experience completing assessments, documentation, or case notes.
This is a full-time, in-person position .
This is not a remote or hybrid position.
Your time will be divided between:
Working in our Portland office
Traveling throughout the community to visit clients and caregivers
Reliable transportation is essential because schedules may change throughout the day based on client and caregiver needs.
What Success Looks LikeOur office is intentionally small. That's one of our greatest strengths.
We work closely together, communicate constantly, and support one another every day. While everyone is always willing to help, each team member is expected to take ownership of their role and manage their responsibilities independently.
The right person for this position is someone who:
Shows up prepared and on time.
Takes initiative without waiting to be asked.
Communicates proactively.
Keeps projects moving forward.
Is comfortable staying busy throughout the day.
Takes pride in producing high-quality work.
Understands that accountability helps people grow.
Wants to become an indispensable member of a high-performing team.
This isn't the type of position where you'll spend long stretches waiting for work to appear. Our days move quickly, priorities shift, and there is always an opportunity to make a meaningful difference. If you enjoy staying engaged, solving problems, and helping others succeed, you'll fit right in.
Our Core ValuesEverything we do is guided by five core values:
Professionalism
Integrity
Commitment to Excellence
Communication
Accountability
If these values describe how you already approach your work, we'd love to hear from you.
Opportunities for GrowthWe're growing, and we're looking for people who want to grow with us.
Team members who consistently demonstrate initiative, reliability, strong leadership, and ownership of their role will have opportunities to expand their responsibilities and advance within the organization.
If you're looking for more than "just a job" and want a career where your work truly matters, we'd love to meet you.
