AI Development Manager

AI Engineer (Hybrid - San Francisco, CA) We are currently supporting a new client based in San Francisco that is building next generation AI powered healthcare workflow solutions. They are looking for a AI Engineer to join their early engineering team and help build production grade AI systems from the ground up. Location: San Francisco, CA (Hybrid - 3 days onsite) Compensation: $175K - $250K based on your experience Experience: 4+ Years Employment Type: Full-Time Key Responsibilities Design, build, deploy, and optimize AI/LLM-powered features in production Architect scalable AI systems including prompting, retrieval, agents, orchestration, and tool usage Build evaluation frameworks and feedback loops for model quality and performance Work closely with leadership on AI strategy, product direction, and technical roadmap Productionize AI responsibly with observability, guardrails, and secure handling of sensitive data Contribute across the stack as needed in a fast-moving startup environment Establish engineering standards and support growth of the early AI team Required Skills Strong expertise in TypeScript Hands‑on experience building and shipping Generative AI / LLM features to production Experience with LangChain and modern AI frameworks Strong backend and database experience with PostgreSQL 4+ years of software engineering experience Experience with React.js/Next.js/React Native and backend development using NestJS Cloud and DevOps exposure, preferably Google Cloud Platform Startup or 0–1 product‑building experience Strong ownership mindset and ability to work autonomously Must have experience in healthcare technology Compensation: Competitive salary with meaningful equity.
