Human Resources Generalist

Position Summary This position will serve as an internal customer support business partner for the production plant. It includes full‑cycle recruiting, administration, safety program leadership, employee engagement, leave and attendance tracking, company activity planning, payroll, and employee record management. The role ensures accuracy and legal compliance at both federal and state levels, provides internal support to business lines, and delivers day‑to‑day professional HR support and policy administration across all phases of the employee life cycle (e.g., hiring, training, employee relations). The position reports to the Human Resources Manager. Scope and Function Serve as a strategic HR advisor to the plant Lead recruitment activities for hourly roles within the plant Ensure all documentation complies with legal requirements Maintain all communications to employees, including handbook understanding Coordinate the safety program and drive a zero‑incident culture Assist in HR projects with a continuous improvement mindset Manage timekeeping and payroll system Coordinate new employee orientation activities Handle mild to medium complex employee relations issues Train and support leaders on employee relations, compliance matters, and engagement Act as the Wellness Champion for corporate wellness initiatives Manage the annual United Way campaign Present employee benefits and address all employee concerns regarding benefits Work with third‑party administrators on all FMLA, STD, ADA situations Be available outside standard business hours as business demands Administer Workday transactions Maintain attendance record keeping in accordance with company and state laws Skills and Ability Organizational skills Analytical skills Strategic mindset Verbal and written communication skills Attention to detail Timely follow‑up Time management Self‑motivated with a highly professional demeanor Ability to work independently and demonstrate integrity, trust, and strategic thinking Excellent interpersonal skills, including active listening and timely response to requests Physical Requirements / Working Conditions 100% on‑site role In office and manufacturing environment Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a business‑related field 1 – 4 years of experience working in human resources Compensation Exempt salaries: $75,000 – $85,000 annually.
