About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Neuro ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: CA RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, TNCC Must-Have: Neuro experience Description: Locals accepted with a 50-mile travel requirement. Candidates must confirm their understanding of local rates. A valid California nursing license and certifications must be held at the time of submission. Weekends required: Every other weekend. Patient ratios: 1:2. Experience in neuro ICU is required. Epic charting experience is required. May float to emergency department, step down unit, or central monitoring department. Previous charge experience is preferred. Community hospital experience is preferred. Daily census ranges from 18 to 22 patients. The unit consists of 24 beds divided into two wings. The ICU team supports each other in a fast-paced environment with a focus on patient throughput. Primary service lines include trauma and neuro/stroke ICU. Monitoring of post-thrombectomy and TNK patients is required. Care for medical-surgical patients requiring organ procurement preparation is necessary. Special competencies include massive blood transfusion, EVD management, and ICP monitoring. Must manage and care for ventilated patients and administer emergency medications. Expected skills include IV administration, phlebotomy, and management of central lines. A collaborative interdisciplinary approach is taken with various support teams. Documentation of work history covering the last 7 years is required. Compliance with background policies must be noted prior to consideration. Candidates may need to be available for lab work within 3 to 5 days of signing.
