Private Duty Nurse

Role Description The Private Duty Nurse will provide direct, one-on-one clinical care to patients in their homes or community settings in Knoxville, TN. Day-to-day responsibilities include administering medications and treatments, monitoring vital signs and health status, documenting patient progress, and following individualized care plans. The nurse will collaborate with physicians, families, and care coordinators to ensure safe, person-centered care that supports patients’ independence and quality of life. Additional duties include patient and family education, adherence to infection control and safety protocols, and timely reporting of changes in condition. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Knoxville, TN. Qualifications Licensure and core nursing skills: Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing and demonstrated proficiency in Nursing fundamentals. Specialized care experience: Experience in Private Duty Nursing or Private Duty care in home or community-based settings. Clinical knowledge: Solid understanding of Medicine principles relevant to chronic and acute conditions, including safe medication administration and basic clinical procedures. Patient-centered care: Ability to provide compassionate, dignified, and culturally sensitive care, with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Professional standards: Commitment to clinical documentation accuracy, infection control, and compliance with state, federal, and agency regulations. Schedule and reliability: Ability to work a consistent full-time schedule, maintain punctuality, and respond appropriately to changes in patient needs.
