Acute Care Physical Therapist

We are seeking a qualified Acute Care Physical Therapist to join our team. This role involves providing essential rehabilitative care to patients in acute care settings. The ideal candidate will be experienced in a variety of therapeutic techniques and able to deliver high-quality patient care while working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients to develop individualized treatment plans.
• Implement therapeutic interventions, including home exercise programs, lifting and transfer techniques, and patient education.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary to ensure optimal recovery.
• Provide support and education to patients and their families regarding treatment plans and recovery processes.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation using Epic charting.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to patient care.
• Perform assessments including pain assessment, strength testing, and vital signs monitoring.
• Assist patients with various conditions such as COPD, CHF, CABG, MI, hip and knee injuries, total joint replacements, and post-stroke rehabilitation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in acute care physical therapy.
• Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist in California.
• BLS certification required.
• Ability to accommodate block schedules, subject to manager discretion.
• Proficient in the use of assistive devices, body mechanics, and discharge planning.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively educate and collaborate with patients and healthcare teams.

Shift Details

This position requires a work schedule of 5 days a week, Tuesday to Saturday, from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Local candidates are encouraged to apply, and requests for time off must be submitted at the time of application.

Additional Information

• Free parking available for all staff.
• Guaranteed hours; however, the facility may invoke call-offs once per two-week pay period.
