Registered Nurse Operating Room

Job Summary:

Provide specialized nursing care in the Operating Room, supporting a high-volume surgical department with a focus on trauma, pediatric, and adult patients. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, and evidence-based surgical patient care.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Deliver preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative nursing care to patients across various surgical specialties.
  
  
• 
  Assist with surgical procedures, manage sterile environments, and operate advanced surgical technology.
  
  
• 
  Monitor patient vitals and responses during surgery, promptly addressing any complications.
  
  
• 
  Document patient information accurately within the Cerner/Surginet system.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
  
  
• 
  Adhere to safety protocols, including emergency response procedures, fire safety, and allergy precautions.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Possess a minimum of 2 years of Operating Room experience, including trauma and general surgery.
  
  
• 
  Hold a valid Maryland or compact RN license upon submission.
  
  
• 
  Maintain current BLS certification and complete a 16-hour Maryland-approved trauma course.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate proficiency with electrosurgical units, fiber-optic equipment, and Steris systems.
  
  
• 
  Have experience with thoracic, ENT, endoscopic, neurosurgery, gynecology, orthopedics, and robotic procedures.
  
  
• 
  Be willing to work 5x8 shifts from 11:00 am to 7:30 pm, including on-call responsibilities.
