IT Business Analyst Lead in GAC Savannah

Unique Skills:

• Experience supporting COTS and vendor-hosted applications , including issue resolution, upgrades, implementations, and vendor coordination.
• Experience supporting on-premise and SaaS-based applications within a complex enterprise environment.
• Demonstrated experience partnering with business stakeholders, technical teams, and third-party vendors to gather requirements, evaluate solutions, and coordinate application initiatives .
• Ability to manage and coordinate multiple applications, projects, priorities, and stakeholder requests simultaneously , with strong attention to organization, documentation, follow-through, and deadlines.
• Strong ability to organize complex initiatives , establish priorities, track dependencies and action items, and maintain visibility of work through completion.
• Experience leading business process analysis and improvement efforts , including documenting current-state processes, identifying gaps, and defining future-state requirements.
• Ability to troubleshoot and facilitate resolution of complex application, business process, and cross-system issues , coordinating technical resources and vendors as needed.
• Experience translating business requirements into application configuration and functional solutions , including performing or supporting system configuration, validating changes, coordinating testing, and documenting solutions.
• Experience coordinating application testing, upgrades, integrations, implementations, and production readiness activities with business and technical stakeholders.
• Working knowledge of enterprise application integrations and data flows , including APIs, flat files, middleware, and interfaces, with the ability to understand dependencies and translate business requirements for technical teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate between business needs and technical requirements and communicate effectively with stakeholders at varying levels.
• Self-directed and collaborative, with demonstrated ownership, accountability, follow-through, and sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience mentoring other business analysts and contributing to the continuous improvement of BA practices, documentation standards, and application support processes .
• Experience with UKG Pro WFM, Corridor, or SAP is preferred but not required.

 

 

 

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, math, a related curriculum required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 11 years leading Business Analysis for complex, technology-based business initiatives or 6 years specific SAP system config, development and deployment experience.

Position Purpose :

Under administrative direction, uses specialized knowledge and skills to assist in the development or improvement of technology solutions by providing business analysis support for larger and more complex applications, including analyzing and documenting business processes and translating user requirements to software development teams. Provides training and plans, assigns, monitors and leads the work of others. Recommends or provides comprehensive solutions to complex problems. Results are evaluated at agreed upon milestones for effectiveness in achieving specified results. Extensive contact with internal customers is required. to identify, research, analyze and resolve complex issues.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

1. Engages stakeholders and technology users in identifying, analyzing, refining and documenting business requirements for IT systems. .
2. Reviews operational procedures and methods; maps current business processes; defines and analyzes business activities; identifies best practices; and recommends improvements. .
3. Develops conceptual design documents, including alternative solutions, scope of work, functional specifications and logical skeletons for new systems. .
4. Serves as a liaison between end users and software development teams, including functioning as a subject matter expert (SME) in translating requirements to software development teams. .
5. Makes formal written and oral presentations on analysis findings, recommendations and system specifications.
6. Identifies requirements for testing, develops test plans and scripts and coordinates testing, as required. .
7. Works with technical resources to assist with IT application/integration testing.
8. Follows up with internal clients about completed tasks to ensure client satisfaction. .
9. Adheres to established standards and maintains currency in business analysis practices, procedures and techniques. .
10. Daily contact with department employees and other departments to exchange job-related information.
11. Provides direction to a team of business analysts to achieve the capture of business requirements for large, complex initiatives which can be further decomposed and addressed more efficiently.

Additional Functions:

1. Interprets, applies and recommends changes to organizational policies and procedures. .
2. Trains, coaches and mentors others. .

Other Requirements:

1. Knowledge of info sys used to support a variety of business areas to include an understanding of integrated systems preferred.
2. Knowledge of IT sys enviro/platforms and development tools.
3. Concepts of risk management, issue tracking, change management and requirements gathering required.
4. Advanced concepts, practices and procedures for analyzing business processes required.
5. Demonstration of business process modeling capabilities.
6. Good consulting, client relations skills and customer service orientation.
7. Strong, hands on experience of BA methodologies, concepts, tools and techniques; particularly flowcharting, business process modelling, ability to read and write scripts and the ability to interpret tech requirements.
8. A Masters degree may be used to offset 1 year of experience; PhD may offset 2 years of experience.
