Registered Nurse - CVICU

Job Description

Job Summary:

The CVICU RN will provide specialized nursing care to adult cardiac patients in a dedicated cardiovascular intensive care environment. The role involves closely monitoring patient conditions, administering treatments, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and prioritize the cardiac patient's condition upon admission and throughout their stay.
• Administer medications, therapies, and interventions following physician orders and established protocols.
• Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and invasive devices such as IABP and Impella.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and families on condition management, procedures, and recovery expectations.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care, assessments, and interventions using Epic charting software.

Qualifications:

• Current Oregon RN license or ability to obtain pending licensure.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent telemetry or CVICU experience.
• Valid BLS and ACLS certifications required; CCRN preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in cardiac procedures, invasive monitoring, and ECG interpretation.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.
