• Supports other consultants as needed.
• Participates in community education opportunities regarding breastfeeding, research projects, speaking engagements, and other company committees.
• Keeps supplies clean and orderly according to policy and reports any needed supplies or educational materials to the supervisor.
• Greets all patients in a friendly, professional manner.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Communicates effectively [Required] • Skilled in teaching adults and adolescents [Preferred] • Triage care based on patient needs [Required] • Organizational Skills [Required] • Skill and proficiency in applying highly technical principles, concepts, and techniques that are central to the profession [Required] • Skill in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for the breastfeeding mother and baby acquired through 1-2 years of experience as a lactation consultant [Preferred] • Current research information regarding Breastfeeding [Preferred] • Maternity nursing and Newborn nursing knowledge [Preferred] • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing [Required] • Ability to use Interpreter service appropriately [Required] • Additional languages preferred, especially Spanish [Preferred] Education: • Associate's of Nursing [Required] • Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred] Field of Study: • N/A Work Experience: • 1+ acute care hospital [Preferred] • 2+ maternity or newborn experience [Preferred] Additional Information: • Additional licensure or certification requirements may apply depending on the specific unit or state in which this position is located.
