Driver Manager Requirements & Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred
2-5 years of experience in the transportation or trucking industry
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities

Driver Manager Preferred Background & Skills

Experience managing a fleet of over 30 drivers
Familiarity with DOT safety laws and regulatory compliance
Background in conducting performance reviews and interviewing candidates

Driver Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Provide operational leadership and daily support to a fleet of up to 40 drivers
Supervise, coach, and train drivers to meet company and customer service expectations
Monitor and ensure timely, safe deliveries by coordinating schedules and resolving issues
Conduct interviews, performance reviews, and implement coaching or discipline as needed
Advise drivers on routing, safety, and compliance with all regulations
Collaborate with customers to address needs, schedules, and service quality
Ensure payroll accuracy and support driver retention initiatives
