Our projects range from individual window replacements in private residences to large-scale installations in multifamily residential buildings, commercial properties, and historic structures. We work alongside property owners, building managers, general contractors, architects, and other construction professionals to deliver installations that meet project specifications, performance requirements, and high standards of workmanship. Proper preparation, anchorage, weatherproofing, attention to existing conditions, and careful finishing are essential to the long‑term performance of every installation. We are seeking experienced Window Installers to join our field installation teams across New York City. Position Overview As a Window Installer, you will perform window removal, preparation, installation, and finishing work on residential and commercial projects throughout New York City. The ideal candidate has hands‑on window installation experience, understands proper installation practices, and takes pride in delivering clean, precise, and professional work. Our installation crews work in a variety of environments, including occupied apartments, private homes, commercial properties, and active construction sites. Candidates should be comfortable working as part of a crew, following installation details and manufacturer requirements, and adapting to different building conditions. We are looking for installers who understand the trade, work safely, communicate effectively, and recognize the importance of getting the details right. Key Responsibilities Window Removal & Installation Remove existing window units, frames, and associated components using appropriate removal methods. Prepare existing openings for new window installations, including cleaning, inspecting, and evaluating surrounding conditions. Install residential and commercial window systems, including double‑hung, casement, sliding, fixed, and other specialty configurations. Properly position, level, plumb, square, shim, anchor, and secure window units in accordance with approved installation details and manufacturer requirements. Install and work with receptors, panning, subsills, trim, aluminum angles, and other installation accessories. Assist with glass handling, glazing, hardware installation, and operational adjustments as required. Verify that completed installations operate correctly and meet workmanship expectations. Weatherproofing & Finishing Prepare joints and surfaces for sealant application, including cleaning, priming when required, and installing appropriate backer materials. Apply perimeter sealants, silicone, and other approved weatherproofing materials. Complete interior and exterior finishing work while maintaining neat, consistent, and professional‑looking installations. Understand the importance of proper drainage, water management, and continuity of perimeter seals. Identify conditions that may compromise installation performance and communicate them to the crew leader or supervisor. Perform necessary adjustments, corrective work, and punch‑list items. Drawings & Installation Coordination Review and follow installation instructions, approved shop drawings, and project‑specific installation details. Take and verify field measurements and identify discrepancies between existing conditions and installation requirements. Communicate unexpected conditions, material issues, or installation challenges before proceeding. Assist with organizing and staging materials, tools, and installation accessories. Coordinate with crew members and field supervisors to maintain efficient daily production. Protect completed work and properly handle materials to prevent damage. Jobsite Safety & Professionalism Follow applicable OSHA, NYC DOB, and project‑specific safety requirements. Use ladders, scaffolding, fall‑protection systems, power tools, and other equipment safely and only when properly trained and authorized. Maintain clean and organized work areas throughout the installation process. Protect floors, walls, furnishings, and surrounding finishes when working in occupied buildings. Work respectfully around residents, building personnel, property managers, and other trades. Properly load, unload, move, and protect window materials and equipment. Maintain accountability for assigned tools, materials, and work areas. Communicate promptly with supervisors regarding safety concerns, installation challenges, or potential delays. Qualifications & Experience Preferred Qualifications Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience in window installation, replacement, glazing, or a closely related trade. Experience removing existing windows and installing replacement systems in residential or commercial buildings. Familiarity with aluminum, vinyl, fiberglass, and wood window systems. Understanding of standard window installation procedures, fastening methods, sealants, and weatherproofing materials. Experience working with panning, receptors, trim, and associated installation components. Ability to accurately use measuring tapes, levels, laser levels, hand tools, and power tools. Ability to interpret basic shop drawings, installation details, and manufacturer instructions. Experience working in occupied multifamily residential properties is a plus. Familiarity with NYC construction practices and jobsite safety procedures. General Requirements Ability to perform physically demanding installation work, including lifting, carrying, positioning, and handling materials using appropriate equipment and assistance. Ability to work safely at elevated locations when properly trained and equipped. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with other crew members. Willingness to follow project‑specific installation procedures and safety requirements. Professional conduct when working in occupied properties and around clients. Ability to travel to assigned project locations throughout New York City's five boroughs. Additional Qualifications Valid driver's license is a plus. NYC DOB Site Safety Training (SST) card is preferred. OSHA construction safety training is a plus. Additional construction safety certifications are beneficial. Applicants without current SST certification may still be considered, provided they can satisfy applicable jobsite safety training requirements before performing work requiring those credentials.
