Financial Planning and Analysis Manager

Chesapeake Search Partners has partnered with a growing national non-profit organization seeking an experienced Assistant Director, FP&A to join its Corporate Finance team. This is a highly visible role responsible for providing financial analysis, evaluating business performance, and supporting capital allocation decisions that drive long-term growth and strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, and strategic decision support, with the ability to influence senior leadership through data-driven insights and financial modeling. Key Responsibilities Analyze company-wide financial performance, identify key trends and business drivers, and provide actionable recommendations to executive leadership. Evaluate business models, growth initiatives, and strategic opportunities, assessing their impact on profitability, scalability, and long-term financial performance. Develop and enhance capital allocation frameworks, including return on net assets (RONA) and risk-adjusted return methodologies, to improve investment decisions and capital efficiency. Lead financial analysis for complex business cases, capital investments, and strategic initiatives, providing thoughtful financial and risk assessments. Partner closely with Finance, Operations, and executive leadership to develop financial assumptions, evaluate strategic alternatives, and support enterprise-wide decision-making. Build financial models and forecasting tools to improve planning accuracy and support long-range strategic planning. Present financial analyses and recommendations clearly and effectively to senior leadership and key stakeholders. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA preferred. 10+ years of progressive experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Corporate Finance, or Corporate Strategy. Strong expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, capital allocation, and performance analysis. Experience evaluating business performance and supporting strategic investment decisions. Demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership through analytical insights and sound financial recommendations. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial planning/reporting systems.
