Express Employment Professionals' Specialized Recruiting Group has partnered with a respected manufacturing and industrial products company in the Greenwood, Indiana area that is seeking a Temporary Logistics Coordinator to support day-to-day transportation and supply chain operations during a temporary leave assignment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment, enjoys solving transportation challenges, and excels at coordinating freight movement and vendor relationships.


Job Summary


The Temporary Logistics Coordinator is responsible for supporting transportation operations, coordinating shipments, resolving freight issues, and ensuring smooth communication between vendors, carriers, customers, and internal teams. This position is critical to maintaining efficiency, accuracy, and continuous improvement across supply chain operations.


Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize a high-volume email ticketing system, ensuring timely and accurate customer support.
• Coordinate supply chain operations with manufacturers, suppliers, vendors, and carriers.
• Plan and track outbound shipments while meeting cost and delivery expectations.
• Support multiple shipping facilities with daily logistics operations.
• Partner with Credit, Customer Success, and Accounts Payable teams to resolve freight-related issues.
• Route and reroute drivers as needed to address transportation challenges.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with freight vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Identify and recommend process improvements to increase operational efficiency.
• Proactively address supply chain disruptions to minimize delays.
• Utilize analytical tools to evaluate and optimize logistics performance.
• Navigate customer portals and support high-priority customer accounts.
• Coordinate LTL, volume, and truckload freight quotes and pickups for multiple shipping locations.
• Manage inbound freight with vendors to ensure timely product delivery.
• Provide additional operational support as needed to meet evolving business needs.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of logistics coordination, transportation, dispatch, or related experience.
• Carrier background with experience in a dispatcher terminal required.
• Hazmat certification required.
• Experience within a logistics or transportation environment preferred.
• Previous experience with Hazmat freight logistics preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using ERP systems and logistics platforms such as JDE, Zendesk, and carrier portals.
• Solid understanding of supply chain processes, inventory planning, and warehouse operations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities across departments.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Schedule

• Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
• 30-minute lunch break
• Hybrid schedule:
  • Onsite in Greenwood, IN: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday
  • Remote: Wednesday and Friday
• Occasional half-day Saturdays may be required based on operational needs
• Overtime may be required during peak business periods

Pay & Benefits

• $25.00-$30.00 per hour
• Temporary Contract Assignment (Leave Coverage)
• Benefits available through Express Employment Professionals during the assignment
