General Function The Production Supervisor evaluates work processes to determine strategies and programs that improve the productivity and efficiency of the company’s functions. Major Duties & Responsibilities Gather information to evaluate current work processes, determining flow of work, time requirements, costs, and duration. Develop strategies and programs that improve productivity and efficiency of various work processes. Apply industrial engineering problem‑solving and productivity techniques to assess improvement of recommended strategies. Provide technical support for the qualification and validation of new product introductions to ensure performance, manufacturability, and quality are achieved. Provide technical support for the qualification and validation of new equipment and processes; identify and implement new technologies for continuous improvement. Instruct and lead others in continuous process improvements, including process mapping and cost‑time management. Develop and coordinate programs that recognize and reward groups or individuals for suggestions and actions related to process improvement. Lead and support root‑cause analysis investigations; recommend and execute corrective and preventative actions. Develop and facilitate employee teams to build cohesiveness and improve overall results of team tasks. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, training, planning work, appraising performance, rewarding, disciplining, and resolving problems. Conduct investigations and tests related to development of new manufacturing methods, materials or processes, and explore potential applications of results. Basic Qualifications BS in Engineering (Mechanical or Industrial) or equivalent. At least 3 years of manufacturing process‑improvement experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience evaluating equipment, product and process development, and solving production problems. Ability to synthesize solutions to a broad range of problems. Ability to manage multiple projects. Ability to work in a team‑oriented environment. Proven track record of individual accomplishment, contribution, and team‑based success. Strong computer skills in MS Office, MS Project or equivalent, Minitab or equivalent statistical package. Application of Lean manufacturing principles. Strong statistical skills, problem solving and data analysis. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate and listen at all levels. Self‑motivated with high sense of urgency, resourcefulness and adaptability. Clear documentation skills. Capable of rotating from sitting to standing and lifting up to 25 pounds.
