Warehouse Manager

Brief Description As Warehouse Manager, you will lead day-to-day warehouse and distribution operations at our Lamar facility. You will guide supervisors and team members, set daily priorities, and ensure products move safely, accurately, and on time from receiving through shipping. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys developing people, using data to improve performance, and solving problems on the warehouse floor. You will guide supervisors and team members, set daily priorities, and ensure products move safely, accurately, and on time from receiving through shipping. What You Will Do Lead daily operations across receiving, put-away, replenishment, picking, staging, shipping, and related material movement activities. Coach and develop warehouse supervisors and team members, set clear expectations, and manage performance with fairness and consistency. Set daily priorities and staffing plans based on workload, shipping schedules, inventory needs, and operating requirements. Champion warehouse safety by reinforcing policies, conducting floor observations, addressing hazards and unsafe behaviors, and ensuring required equipment inspections and training are completed. Monitor productivity, labor utilization, attendance, overtime, service levels, loading accuracy, product damage, and other key performance indicators; take action when results are off plan. Protect inventory accuracy by maintaining strong controls, investigating discrepancies, supporting cycle counts, and coordinating corrective actions. Ensure customer orders and trailers are loaded accurately, safely, and on schedule while protecting product quality. Maintain clean, organized, and efficient warehouse locations and promote the proper use of material-handling equipment. Partner with Transportation, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Human Resources, Safety, and other teams to resolve issues and support business priorities. Investigate operational problems, identify root causes, and lead continuous improvement in processes, layout, workflow, equipment use, and labor efficiency. Communicate expectations through shift meetings, supervisor check-ins, performance conversations, and timely escalation of significant issues. Support hiring, onboarding, training, cross-training, succession planning, and retention while fostering a professional workplace where people are treated with respect. Work with Human Resources to apply company policies consistently and address employee relations, coaching, and corrective action appropriately. Requirements Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support the operation. High school diploma or equivalent. Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse safety, shipping and receiving, inventory control, material handling, and labor planning. Experience leading supervisors or multiple work teams and managing performance through measurable operational goals. Working knowledge of warehouse management, ERP, and inventory systems, along with Microsoft Office applications; ability to learn new systems quickly. Strong communication, problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, and conflict-resolution skills. Ability to lead effectively in a changing environment and support schedules necessary to meet operational needs. Ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. Preferred Background Five or more years of progressive experience in warehouse, distribution, logistics, or manufacturing operations. Three or more years of people-leadership experience in a warehouse, distribution center, manufacturing facility, or similarly fast-paced operation. Work Environment This position works primarily in a warehouse and distribution environment, with regular time on the warehouse floor. The environment may include warehouse noise, temperature variation, powered industrial equipment, and vehicle traffic. Schedule flexibility may be needed during peak operating periods. The role requires regular computer use and visual and auditory awareness in an active warehouse. It may also involve intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, lifting, and hand manipulation.
