THE JOB IN ONE SENTENCE You run the floor like an owner — directing your team, protecting the guest experience, and holding the standard without having to be told to. Six months from now, a great Team Leader at Chick-fil-A Hueytown has done these things: Opened or closed without a single missed step — leadership never had to come behind you to clean it up. Led the team through busy periods with clarity and composure — urgency without panic. Coached team members through a real performance moment — and it landed. You corrected quickly and built confidence, not resentment. Earned the trust of your team: when you direct, people move — not because they have to, but because they respect you. Delivered shifts where no guest recovery was needed. You saw the problem before it became one. Someone on the leadership team has said: “Have you thought about a Manager role?” WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING DAY-TO-DAY Setting positional assignments and managing shift flow from open to close Coaching in real time — setting expectations, correcting quickly, and building confidence on the floor Running kitchen, drive-thru, and dining room operations with speed and accuracy during peak volume Catching guest recovery opportunities before they escalated Communicating clearly with managers about staffing, issues, and shift priorities Supporting training and onboarding — reinforcing the basics for new team members consistently Maintaining food-safe standards throughout your shift: temperatures, handling, labeling Completing shift documentation, waste logs, and handoff notes (including immediate performance feedback) WHAT “GREAT” LOOKS LIKE HERE Clarity: people know what good looks like and what to do next — because you told them Urgency with calm: you keep pace without creating panic Fairness: standards apply to everyone, every shift, without exception Follow-through: you close loops — tasks, coaching moments, and commitments Guest-first mindset: every decision you make has the guest experience in view WHO THRIVES HERE This is a founding team.
