Medical Assistant

Key Responsibilities Duties:

• Greet and prepare patients for examinations and procedures
• Obtain and document vital signs, medical history, and reason for visit
• Assist providers with examinations, treatments, and minor procedures
• Administer injections and perform EKGs, venipuncture, and other lab procedures as needed
• Maintain accurate patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
• Provide patient education and instructions as directed by the provider
• Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and properly set up
• Support quality improvement initiatives, including patient recall, preventive screenings, and care gap closures
• Assist with scheduling, referrals, and prior authorizations as needed
• Follow infection control and safety procedures

Job Requirements:

• Must have a CMA or RMA current certification
• 3 years of experience in primary care
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and critical-thinking skills.
• Previous EMR/EHR experience with NextGen is a plus.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical protocols.
• Hours: Monday – Thursday 7:15 am-4:00 pm, Friday 7:15 am-2:45 pm (must be flexible) and available for Saturday clinic at least once a month from 8am-12pm
• Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred but not required.
