Advanced Manufacturing Engineer

PPG’s Aerospace Business is looking for an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Sylmar! As the Advanced Manufacturing Engineer you will be responsible for supporting the Material Review Board process by evaluating non-conforming materials and products, determining their disposition, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies, and supporting process engineers in their projects. This is an onsite role at our Sylmar, CA. facility. You will report to the Production Manager. Key Responsibilities Review and analyze non-conformance reports (NCRs) and associated documentation. Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to assess non-conforming materials and products. Determine appropriate disposition of non-conforming items, including rework, repair, or scrap. Maintain accurate records of non-conformance evaluations and dispositions in the MRB database. Help develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) related to non-conformances. Participate in MRB meetings and provide technical input on material issues. Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying trends and recommending process enhancements. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies. Qualifications Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field or combination of education and experience. 1+ years of experience with MRP/database management. Familiarity with MRB processes and non-conformance management. Proficiency in using engineering, quality assurance, and Lean Six Sigma tools (e.g., CAD software, statistical analysis tools) is helpful. Experience with engineering principles and quality assurance processes. Only U.S. Citizens, Green Card holders, and political asylees or refugees are eligible to apply. The base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $85,000, with a possibility of an annual bonus up to 4.5% of base salary.
