We are looking for a skilled Blaster to join our team in the Livingston area. Your primary focus will be the preparation of surfaces for coating through precise abrasive blasting techniques. By ensuring that all materials are thoroughly cleaned and conditioned, you will help achieve superior coating adhesion. You will be expected to manage blasting machinery, care for your tools and media, and consistently follow all safety guidelines while working within an industrial setting. Core Duties Manage the setup, operation, and ongoing monitoring of abrasive blasting machinery. Organize all necessary materials, workspaces, and gear to facilitate efficient blasting tasks. Execute surface preparation processes utilizing specific blast media like Garnet or Black Beauty. Verify that all blasted surfaces meet established cleanliness and quality benchmarks to support project success. Clean, service, and store all blasting apparatus, filters, and safety gear to ensure they remain in good working order. Help maintain a safe working environment for the entire team by following all protocols in confined spaces and industrial areas. Coordinate effectively with colleagues throughout all blasting procedures to ensure smooth operations. Adhere strictly to safety regulations and promptly notify management of any potential hazards. Support the team by performing routine equipment checks and maintenance to keep operations running reliably. Keep the work zone tidy and well-organized to promote a productive atmosphere. Requirements Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent. At least 2 to 3 years of professional experience in industrial abrasive blasting. Proficiency in utilizing blast media such as Garnet or Black Beauty. Demonstrated ability to perform tasks safely within industrial settings and confined spaces. Proven skill in the safe and effective operation of blasting tools. Strong focus on detail to ensure high-quality workmanship on every project. Capacity to maintain concentration and alertness over long shifts. Strong commitment to safety awareness and clear communication with others. Physical Demands Capacity to stand, walk, and perform manual labor for long durations. Ability to navigate ladders, scaffolding, and elevated work platforms. Capability to wear necessary PPE, such as respirators, for long periods. Ability to lift and transport equipment and materials as needed. Possess the stamina and physical strength required for rigorous industrial work in diverse weather conditions. Operations take place in manufacturing and industrial facilities. Exposure to typical industrial conditions including noise, dust, and fluctuating temperatures. Mandatory use of personal protective equipment including eye protection, gloves, respirators, and suits. Tasks may involve working around heavy machinery, at heights, or in confined areas.
