AI Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled AI Engineer to design and build production-grade AI-powered applications within a large-scale enterprise environment. This role supports initiatives at one of the largest insurance organizations in the United States, focused on transforming member experience through AI. The team is building an AI assistant to support claims processing, alongside a broader 360° platform designed to develop comprehensive health profiles for users. These solutions are powered by integrated LLM capabilities and supported by an extensive data discovery platform.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement agentic AI systems, including digital twins and intelligent member-facing systems.
- Enhance existing production systems with high reliability, performance, and scalability.
- Work on AI-native platforms in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Participate in the design and implementation of production-grade agentic or multi-step LLM workflows.
- Engage in solution-driven conversations with stakeholders.
Essential Skills
- Experience with AWS, LLM, and Terraform.
- Strong knowledge in building production backends using Lambda or Bedrock, API Gateway, and DynamoDB.
- Ability to define a system architecture from scratch.
- Full-Stack and API development skills.
- Production-grade engineering practices with Docker and associated technologies.
- Client-facing experience and strong communication skills.
Additional Skills and Qualifications
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Experience in a HIPAA-regulated environment.
- Knowledge of Python.
- Healthcare or government experience.

Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Toronto, ON.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $190000.00 - $215000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
