Analytics Engineer

Position Summary:The fundamental role of the Analytics Engineer is to develop and maintain reusable data products that enable stakeholders to answer their own questions efficiently and effectively. They speak the language of data producers and consumers, translating analytical goals into models powered by the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW). Analytics Engineers make use of the EDW to create and maintain reusable data assets that enable self-service analytics across the enterprise.As a successful candidate, you will:Building data models in the data warehouse using dbt to support data analysis needs, consolidate data sources, and establish a self-service reporting platformWork with Enterprise Data Warehouse team to integrate new data sources into the data warehouse as needed using Python or other EL scripting toolsBuilding data pipelines with a variety of toolsEnsure all stakeholders analytics needs are met by scoping projects, gathering requirements and prioritizing overall company needsMigration and automation of legacy reporting tools to a new platform focused on creating a unified data model in the data warehouseSkills & Technologies:SQLData warehouse/ETL tooling such as dbt, Airflow/Prefect, Python, and SnowflakeTableau (our current visualization tool) or related BI toolAttention to detail and willingness to learn a variety of analytics and reporting toolsFamiliarity using a scripting language to manipulate data, Python strongly preferredBonus Experience:Experience developing and maintaining custom data pipelines with PythonExperience with Kimball style Dimensional ModelingExperience developing unified data models in dbtHealthcare data experienceMoving from Microsoft SQL Server to Azure CloudSQL: 3 years (Required)Tableau or Similar BI Tool: 3 years (Required)Modeling data and Scripting: 3 years (Required)Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.QualificationsYour qualifications should include: Minimum Education:Undergraduate degreeMinimum Experience:3 years of related experienceExperience SQL Server, Python and other scripting languagesCity of Hope employees pay is based on the following criteria: work experience, qualifications, and work location.City of Hope is an equal opportunity employer.To learn more about our Comprehensive Benefits, pleaseCLICK HERE.Job Field: Enterprise Data Management & AnalyticsShift: Days
