Role Summary

The Head of Capital Markets will play a critical role in managing Biz2Credit’s funding strategy, facility relationships, securitization readiness, and portfolio analytics. This leader will support the build‑out of a scalable, diversified, and cost‑efficient funding platform that enables consistent $100MM+ monthly originations.

This role partners closely with senior leadership—including the President, and CEO—to execute funding initiatives, optimize liquidity, and prepare the company for long‑term structured‑credit solutions.

Core Responsibilities

1. Capital Markets & Funding Strategy

• Support the development and execution of funding strategy across warehouse lines, forward‑flow programs, and institutional capital.
• Manage day‑to‑day facility operations, covenant compliance, and reporting.
• Assist in negotiating new facilities to improve advance rates and reduce cost of capital.
• Contribute to the company’s securitization roadmap, including modeling, structuring prep, and investor engagement.
• Maintain relationships with banks, credit funds, rating agencies, and institutional partners.

2. Treasury, Liquidity & Balance Sheet Support

• Partner with Finance and Treasury on liquidity planning, cash forecasting, and capital allocation.
• Monitor balance sheet performance and ensure alignment with market conditions and investor expectations.
• Support compliance, reporting accuracy, and internal controls.
• Oversee analytical work related to credit performance, funding utilization, and portfolio trends.
• Partner with Data Science and Risk to enhance forecasting, stress testing, and performance monitoring.
• Provide insights that inform pricing, underwriting, and capital allocation decisions.

4. Strategic Partnership & Cross‑Functional Leadership

• Work closely with senior leadership on long‑term funding strategy and capital‑markets initiatives.
• Provide market intelligence and structured‑credit insights to guide product and growth strategy.
• Support new product launches and strategic partnerships with funding and risk analysis.

5. Investor Relations & External Stakeholder Support

• Serve as a key point of contact for lenders, investors, and capital partners.
• Prepare materials and communications related to performance, credit trends, and strategic direction.
• Help position the company for future securitization and institutional funding opportunities.

Required Experience

Must‑Have Background

• Minimum 10+ years in Capital Markets, Structured Finance, Debt Capital Markets, or Financial Institutions coverage.
• Hands‑on experience with warehouse financing, forward‑flow programs, or institutional funding.
• Experience with securitization (ABS) or securitization preparation.
• Background in banking, specialty finance, or fintech lending.
• Strong understanding of SMB lending, credit risk, and portfolio analytics.

Preferred Background

• Experience at major banks, specialty‑finance platforms, or fintech lenders.
• Prior involvement in liability management, structured‑product execution, or investor‑facing capital‑markets roles.
• MBA or advanced degree in Finance; CFA preferred.
• Strong communication and investor‑facing presence.
• Ability to operate in a fast‑paced, founder‑led fintech environment.
• Quantitative and analytical strength with hands‑on execution capability.
• Ability to collaborate cross‑functionally and influence senior stakeholders.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to dive deep into details.
