Production Technician

Job Title: Production Technician Job Description The Production Technician supports reliable manufacturing operations by performing preventative maintenance, minor mechanical repairs, and equipment assembly on a variety of industrial systems. This role works hands-on with mechanical equipment, including components similar to cars, tractors, diesel trucks, or industrial manufacturing machinery, to ensure safe, efficient, and consistent performance. Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance on production and industrial equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment and sub-assemblies for machine builders, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions. Assemble mechanical components and systems using hand tools and low-voltage wiring in accordance with engineering specifications. Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to guide assembly, wiring, and mechanical adjustments. Pull and route low-voltage wire and cables as required for equipment assembly and operation. Work with hydraulic and diesel-related systems as needed to support equipment functionality. Conduct system testing and quality assurance checks to verify proper operation and performance of equipment. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all work performed, including maintenance activities, repairs, and test results. Follow all safety regulations, procedures, and company policies to maintain a safe work area and protect equipment and colleagues. Use hand tools and basic mechanical techniques (such as turning a wrench) to assemble, adjust, and repair equipment components. Collaborate with other technicians and team members to complete projects efficiently and meet production goals. Essential Skills Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, including the ability to use hand tools and perform basic mechanical tasks such as turning a wrench. Hands-on experience working with mechanical systems such as cars, tractors, diesel trucks, or industrial manufacturing equipment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Experience with low-voltage work, including pulling and routing wire. Familiarity with mechanical assembly processes in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Basic understanding of hydraulics and mechanical systems. Strong work ethic and willingness to perform physically hands-on tasks. Ability to follow safety regulations and company policies consistently. Attention to detail for accurate documentation and quality assurance checks. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with diesel-powered equipment or systems. Exposure to industrial manufacturing equipment or machine building environments. Comfort using a variety of hand tools and basic test equipment. Ability to perform system testing and quality checks to ensure proper functionality. Work Environment This role is based in a production and industrial environment working around mechanical equipment, sub-assemblies, and machine-building operations. You will regularly use hand tools and work with low-voltage wiring, hydraulics, and mechanical systems. Standard shift options include a 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. schedule Monday through Friday and a 10:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. schedule Sunday through Thursday. The position involves hands-on, physical work around machinery and requires consistent adherence to safety procedures and company policies. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greenfield, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
