Registered Nurse Labor and Delivery

Job Summary:

The L&D RN provides specialized nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum, ensuring the safety and well-being of both mother and baby. They support families through childbirth and assist physicians in clinical procedures.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Monitor fetal and maternal vital signs throughout labor and delivery.
  
  
• 
  Assist physicians with childbirth procedures and emergency interventions.
  
  
• 
  Provide patient education on breastfeeding, postpartum care, and newborn care.
  
  
• 
  Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and clinical interventions.
  
  
• 
  Administer medications and treatments such as fetal monitoring, epidurals, and IV therapy.
  
  
• 
  Support families emotionally and prepare them for various stages of childbirth.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold a valid Illinois RN license at the time of submission.
  
  
• 
  Possess at least 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery experience.
  
  
• 
  Maintain current BLS, NRP, and ACLS certifications.
  
  
• 
  Have travel nursing experience preferred.
  
  
• 
  Include Illinois Nurse Agency license in submission profile.
