Matheny is a special hospital for children and adults with medically complex developmental disabilities. Job Duties for this position include:

Accounting Operations

• Prepare journal entries

• Perform bank reconciliations

• Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts

• Maintain prepaid and accrual schedules

• Assist with fixed asset accounting

• Support month-end close activities

Regulatory Reporting Support

• Prepare supporting schedules for cost reports

• Compile supporting documentation for audits

• Assist with grant reporting schedules

• Support statistical reporting requirements

• Maintain documentation supporting regulatory filings

Cross-Functional Coverage

• Provide backup coverage for Accounts Payable

• Provide backup coverage for Billing

• Support cash posting activities

• Assist with revenue cycle support functions

• Maintain proficiency in multiple finance processes

Business Continuity & Cross Training

• Participate in departmental cross-training initiatives

• Maintain process documentation

• Assist with procedure development

• Support special projects and process improvements

Success Measures

• Timely completion of reconciliations

• Effective backup coverage across multiple functions

• Reduced operational disruption during absences

• Timely completion of close support activities

The salary range for this position is $25.64 - 38.46 per pay hour.

Position Requirements

Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or business required

Bachelor's degree or active progress toward one preferred.

Three years of accounting, bookkeeping, reconciliations, AP, billing, or finance operations experience minimum.

Must be able to work accurately with detailed financial information, follow procedures, and learn multiple processes.

Excel and accounting-system proficiency required.

Blackbaud or healthcare/nonprofit experience preferred.

Must demonstrate sound judgment, attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to protect confidential financial, resident, patient, and employee information

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the ability to learn and effectively use finance and operational systems are required.

Licensure/ Certifications:

Bookkeeping or accounting certificate preferred, but not required.
