Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized HR Manager to oversee the company's human resources operations and support employees and management across all stages of the employee lifecycle. The HR Manager will be responsible for recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, HR policies and procedures, compliance, and employee development.

Key Job Functions
Recruitment & Staffing

• Manage the full recruitment process, including job postings, candidate sourcing, screening, interviews, reference checks, and offers.
• Work with department managers to identify staffing needs and develop accurate job descriptions.
• Coordinate interviews and maintain timely communication with candidates throughout the hiring process.
• Develop and maintain relationships with recruitment platforms, staffing agencies, and other talent sources.
• Maintain accurate candidate and recruitment records.

Employee Onboarding & Offboarding

• Coordinate onboarding activities for new employees, including documentation, orientation, policies, and required training.
• Ensure new employees have the necessary systems, equipment, access, and information to begin their roles effectively.
• Manage employee offboarding procedures, including exit interviews, documentation, and coordination with management and IT.

Employee Relations

• Serve as a point of contact for employees and managers regarding HR-related questions, concerns, and workplace issues.
• Address employee relations matters professionally, consistently, and confidentially.
• Assist management with disciplinary actions, performance concerns, and workplace investigations when necessary.
• Promote a positive, professional, and respectful workplace environment.

Performance Management

• Coordinate employee performance review processes and maintain performance documentation.
• Work with managers to establish performance expectations and address performance issues.
• Assist with employee development, training, and career growth initiatives.

HR Policies & Compliance

• Develop, maintain, and communicate company HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks.
• Ensure HR practices comply with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
• Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
• Monitor required employee certifications, licenses, training, and other compliance documentation.
• Assist with audits and maintain required HR documentation.

Payroll & Benefits Support

• Coordinate with payroll providers or internal payroll personnel to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
• Maintain employee information related to compensation, benefits, leave, and employment status.
• Assist employees with benefits-related questions and coordinate with benefit providers as needed.
• Track employee attendance, leave, and other applicable records.

HR Administration

• Maintain HR databases, personnel files, organizational charts, and employee records.
• Prepare HR reports, staffing reports, and workforce metrics for management.
• Develop and maintain HR SOPs, forms, templates, and workflows.
• Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and automate repetitive administrative tasks.
• Maintain confidentiality of employee and company information.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field preferred.
• 3-5+ years of progressive HR experience, with previous HR management or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of recruitment, employee relations, onboarding, performance management, and HR administration.
• Working knowledge of applicable employment laws and regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, HRIS, applicant tracking systems, and other HR software.

Preferred Qualifications

• SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
• Experience working in an engineering, construction, or professional services environment.
• Experience managing remote and/or geographically distributed employees.
• Experience with HRIS, ATS, payroll, and employee management platforms.
• Experience developing HR policies, SOPs, and internal processes.

Salary: $75K to $95K Annually
