PC Refresh Technician
MetroSys is seeking a reliable PC Refresh Technician for a short-term onsite engagement in Menlo Park, CA. This role will support a workstation refresh initiative involving approximately 15 end-user systems. The technician will be responsible for swapping hardware, ensuring successful user handoff, and minimizing disruption to daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform desktop and laptop refreshes for approximately 15 workstations.
- Unbox, image (if required), and configure new systems according to standards.
- Migrate user data, profiles, and settings from old systems to new devices.
- Install and validate required software, drivers, and security tools.
- Disconnect, remove, and properly stage or dispose of legacy equipment.
- Perform basic troubleshooting during setup and post-refresh validation.
- Provide brief end-user assistance to confirm system functionality.
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience with PC refresh or desktop deployment projects.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows OS and basic desktop troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with data migration tools and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks efficiently within a short timeframe.
- Professional communication and customer-facing skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting executive or professional office environments.
- Familiarity with imaging tools such as SCCM, Intune, or manual deployment processes.
