Your Role on the Team Position Summary: The Emergency Department secretary/monitor technician provides clerical support to the nurses, physicians, and Department Director. In addition to the timely and efficient initiation of patient care orders; he/she is responsible for coordinating communication within the department and hospital. He/she will maintain par levels of necessary office and chart supplies and follow through with equipment repair and maintenance. What It Takes to be Successful Required Qualifications: Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System Current American Heart Association Provider Basic Life Support Certification Knowledge of Medical Terminology Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms Previous acute care hospital experience Previous experience as unit secretary/monitor technician Basic Dysrhythmia Course Total Rewards We offer a wealth of benefits to make working at UCI even more rewarding.
