Job Title: Industrial Painter / Automotive Painter

Responsibilities

• Prepare and paint the interior and exterior surfaces of assembled aerospace parts using spray equipment and other industrial painting tools.
• Apply coatings in accordance with Military Specifications, ensuring all quality, safety, and process standards are met.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings to understand masking requirements and the proper application of primers and top coats.
• Perform sandblasting, masking, and paint preparation in line with detailed customer specifications.
• Mix primers and paints in accordance with required ratios and viscosity to achieve specified film thickness, adhesion, gloss, and overall finish.
• Use spray guns, paint booths, and related equipment to apply industrial coatings consistently and efficiently.
• Carry out sanding, blasting, and other surface preparation activities to ensure optimal coating performance.
• Inspect workpieces during and after painting to verify coverage, finish quality, and conformance to specifications.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper handling, labeling, and storage of paints, primers, and coatings.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines when working with industrial paints, coatings, and equipment.

Essential Skills

• At least 2 years of industrial painting experience, with consideration for candidates with strong auto body painting experience.
• Proficiency in painting to Military Specifications (Mil-Spec) and following detailed technical requirements.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings related to masking, primer, and top coat application.
• Hands-on experience with industrial painting, including spray painting and use of spray guns and paint sprayers.
• Proficiency in sandblasting, masking, and paint preparation for industrial or aerospace components.
• Ability to mix primers and paints according to required ratios and viscosity to achieve specified thickness, adhesion, and gloss.
• Experience working in paint booths and using industrial paint and coating equipment.
• Strong understanding of surface preparation techniques, including sanding and blasting.
• Attention to detail and ability to consistently meet quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Finksburg, MD.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Finksburg,MD.
