Senior Director, Engineering and Technology (Holly Springs)

Overview Head of Engineering at Holly Springs, North Carolina, responsible for leading the engineering, science, and technology strategy shaping a state‑of‑the‑art, high‑volume drug product manufacturing facility. The role drives capital execution, asset life‑cycle management, maintenance & reliability, and continuous improvement across the new green‑field build and its ongoing operations. Responsibilities Develop and execute the overall engineering, science, and technology strategy at Holly Springs. Lead equipment, facility and utility selection, qualification, and operational start‑up of the green‑field assets. Drive the site maintenance & reliability program, capital execution, asset life‑cycle management and world‑class asset management. Establish a world‑class asset maintenance management system and oversee all site facility services. Build and manage a high‑performing team, fostering continuous improvement and innovation. Collaborate with global functions, suppliers, local expertise and other Roche sites to deliver technical excellence. Lead the Site Leadership Team, report directly to the Site Head, and implement lean and agile ways of working. Ensure GMP compliance, continuous improvement, and achievement of long‑term goals. Manage performance and development of the Engineering Unit and build a robust talent pipeline and succession plans. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (graduate degree or MBA preferred). 15+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience, with 6+ years of people and project management and 4+ years of facilities management, engineering, or related experience. Proven experience leading maintenance strategy and world‑class maintenance programs. Strong leadership, collaboration, and cross‑functional team skills in a matrix organization. Deep understanding of manufacturing and business processes at a site and the ability to navigate the network of opportunities and challenges. Assertiveness, continuous improvement mindset, and a history of coaching and implementing lean and agile approaches. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Salary Projected range: $173,950 – $323,050 (based on location; actual pay depends on experience, level, qualifications, geography, and other permissible factors).
