Service Technician

The responsibilities of a Service Technician include diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing customer vehicles. They will have great communication skills and collaborate with the parts department.

Responsibilities include performing work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership, testing drive vehicles and components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems, communicating directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed, providing estimates of time needed for additional repairs, and executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, at least 2 years of experience as an auto technician, knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance, fast, eager learner and team player, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong customer service skills, computer skills and willingness to learn new problems, ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment, clean driving record & valid drivers license.

Physical requirements of the position are medium to heavy in intensity. Must be able to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time. Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception and field of vision comparable necessary to drive vehicles safely. Constant reaching, sitting, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing. Frequent repetitive motion. Occasional balancing, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to ~100 lbs.

This position is subject to inside and outside environmental working conditions including but not limited to temperature changes, outside weather conditions, slightly elevated ambient noise levels, minor potential physical hazards as electrical, mechanical, and cleaning equipment, and minor atmospheric conditions affecting skin or respiratory systems such as fumes, odors and dusts associated with operation an auto dealership.
