School Speech Language Pathologist

Position Overview Aveanna Education Services is hiring a Speech Language Pathologist who will be responsible for the delivery of quality services in accordance with the student’s Individualized Education Plan. HR/Clearance Requirements TB Test Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151) Mandated Reporter Training FBI Fingerprint Clearance (Act 114) – required by some districts School District Requirements Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to understand student strengths, interests, and needs regarding speech and language services. Use a variety of evaluation tools to assess students’ speech or language needs and determine eligibility for special education services. Propose relevant IEP goals and work throughout the year to help students achieve these goals. Collect and summarize data on student progress, drafting progress reports as per district schedules. Collaborate with school psychologists, behavior analysts, mental health therapists, and other professionals. Support students’ use of high- and low‑tech AAC systems. Use the SETT framework and serve as a primary resource for SETT evaluators. Apply RTI and MTSS practices to provide insight to child study teams. Develop and coordinate therapy schedules to ensure students receive all services identified in their IEPs. Experience with feeding and swallowing evaluations and interventions is a bonus. Additional Job Functions Review and discuss caseload with Aveanna’s Clinical Director at least once a month. Assist and guide teachers in observing, describing, and referring suspected and identified speech and language impairments. Provide screenings to identify students who require speech and/or language interventions or referral for formal assessment. Provide information and support to parents and families when appropriate. Provide written evaluations defining speech therapy needs, goals, and expected outcomes. Serve as a resource consultant for clinical staff. Qualifications Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited university or program. Current and unrestricted SLP license to practice in the state of practice; not under investigation for anything that may jeopardize the license. Additional state and district requirements such as First Aid, CPR certification, mandated reporter training, child abuse clearances, and criminal history background checks. Continuing Education as required by state or licensing bodies. Other Skills and Abilities Adhere to confidentiality standards and professional boundaries at all times. Demonstrate effective problem‑solving and conflict resolution skills. Maintain good organization and communication skills. Physical Requirements Speak, write, read, and understand English. Travel as required. Lift up to 50 pounds. Engage in prolonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and twisting. Respond physically and mentally to emergency situations.
