General Surgery Physician Requirements

• Physician with at least 1 year of relevant general surgery or related surgical experience
• Board certification or board eligibility in surgery
• Current, unrestricted physician licensure appropriate for practice in Mississippi
• Active Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Demonstrated experience with arterial bypass procedures
• Ability to provide on-site surgical coverage and collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary healthcare team

General Surgery Locum Tenens Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage surgical patients in an on-site hospital setting
• Provide general surgery, cardiovascular surgery, and vascular surgery coverage as needed
• Perform or manage arterial bypass procedures within the physician’s scope of practice
• Complete surgical consultations, examinations, treatment planning, and follow-up care
• Coordinate patient care with nursing, anesthesia, medical staff, and other healthcare professionals
• Respond appropriately to urgent and emergent surgical needs in a Level III trauma environment
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
