SAP TCOE Manager

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategy & Governance

Define enterprise test strategy aligned to product architecture and release cadence.
Establish governance: naming conventions, folder structures, reviews, Definition of Ready/Done.
Create policies for test data, environments, security/compliance (PII, secrets, audit).
Maintain test roadmap and quarterly OKRs; run TCoE steering forum.

2. Test Architecture & Frameworks

Standardize frameworks for UI, API, mobile, and data validation.
Drive model-based automation and separation of concerns.
Implement reusable design patterns to reduce brittleness.

3. Tooling & Automation

Own toolchain lifecycle: Tosca, Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, JMeter, LoadRunner, qTest, Azure Test Plans.
Integrate automation with CI/CD (Azure DevOps/Jenkins/GitLab).
Set standards for tagging, parallelization, retries, and quarantine management.

4. Data & Environment Strategy

Implement Test Data Management (TDM/TDS), masking, synthetic data generation.
Define environment matrix, health checks, service virtualization.
Establish SLAs for environment availability and data freshness.

5. Quality Metrics & Reporting

Publish dashboards: pass rate, execution time, automation coverage, flaky index, defect leakage.
Standardize failure taxonomy and root-cause tracking.
Provide monthly executive summaries and release readiness reports.

6. Delivery & Execution

Define scheduling patterns: PR smoke, nightly component, weekly regression/E2E.
Coordinate cross-team E2E orchestration for release candidates.
Optimize suites; prune test debt; enforce SLA for stabilization.

7. People & Enablement

Run enablement programs: onboarding, certifications, playbooks.
Mentor automation engineers; drive code reviews and communities of practice.
Build sourcing model and competency matrix.

8. Risk & Compliance

Maintain risk register for environment, data, skills, and pipeline health.
Ensure compliance (SOX/GDPR/PCI) and auditability.
