Role Overview Caterpillar is seeking a Facilities Technician in Sanford, NC. In this role, you will support the implementation and sustainability of shop and grounds improvements for the Sanford Product Design and Endurance area. Responsibilities You will be a key player in large facilities projects and the leader on smaller scale facilities projects. You will build relationships with and carry out work with external contractors and internal teams to improve facilities. You will create standard work for shop and/or endurance activities to create a safer work environment. You will serve as first line of support for building service problems and work requests. You will assist facility engineers and support maintenance and other related departments. You will demonstrate knowledge of and the ability to carry out strategies and tasks that support the mission and goals of the leader and the organization. Qualifications Collaborating: Knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner. Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations. Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision. Preferred Experience Recent forklift experience. SSL and CTL operation experience. Use of AutoCAD 2D modeling for floor plans. Experience in a mechanic shop and/or fabrication shop. Experience managing inventory. Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and/or Excel. Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally. Demonstrated ability to work independently to move projects forward. Location The primary location for this position is Sanford, NC. Compensation Salary range: $71,040.00 – $106,440.00. Compensation and benefits offered may vary based on location, job level, and experience.
