Overview
Registered Nurse - Med Surg (Stroke Stepdown) travel assignment in Utica, New York. Start date 11/23/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay $641-$672 per week. Guaranteed hours 48 per week. Shift: Night, 12-hour shifts (6:30 p.m.–7:00 a.m.), 4-night blocks; floating required. Unit focuses on MS Stroke Stepdown with 64 beds on a hospital floor; EPIC EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct professional nursing care to adult patients on the MS stroke stepdown unit, including monitoring, assessment, and continuous reassessment of neurological status.
- Perform NIHSS-based neuro checks, administer prescribed medications, manage IV pumps and feeding tubes, and support respiratory needs as required.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (physicians, case management, therapy services) to develop and adjust care plans; document care and outcomes in the EPIC system.
- Respond to changes in patient condition, escalate promptly, and participate in code/rapid response protocols as appropriate.
- Ensure patient safety, infection control, and accurate patient and family education; participate in discharge planning and care coordination.
- Floats to adjacent MS units as needed to support staffing and patient flow; adhere to unit policies and procedures.

Requirements
- Active NY RN license; NURSYS verification and all active RN licenses must be current
- 2+ years of Med Surg with stroke stepdown experience
- Travel experience required
- NIHSS competency and current AHA BLS certification
- EPIC EMR experience
- Valid driver’s license with address matching demographics
- RTO requests must be included at submission
- Up-to-date resume including 2+ years MS stroke stepdown experience and travel history
