Teaching Assistant Professor – Health Education/Health Sciences – 002028 Department: School of Health Sciences Location: Cullowhee, NC (main campus) Position Summary Full‑time, 9‑month fixed‑term appointment as Teaching Assistant Professor of Health Education/Health Sciences. Preferred start date August 1, 2026 with consideration for January 1, 2027. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses, advising students, and providing service to the university, profession, and community. Doctoral level candidates may also teach graduate students in the Master of Health Sciences program. Responsibilities Develop and deliver Health Sciences courses (e.g., Health Education, Nutrition, Fitness & Wellness, Women’s Health, Public Health, Capstone). Advise and mentor undergraduate students with collaboration from the Advising Center. Provide service to the university, profession, and community. Maintain contemporary expertise through continuing education, scholarship, and participation in professional organizations. Collaborate with faculty and staff across the Department, College, and university. Submit curricular artifacts, narratives, and data for program assessment and continuous improvement. Carry out other assignments as directed by Program Director, Department Head, or Dean. Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in health education, health promotion, community health, public health, or closely related field from a regionally accredited institution. Evidence of teaching experience in the discipline. Evidence of service to the profession or community. Preferred Qualifications Doctoral degree in health education, health promotion, community health, public health, or closely related field from a regionally accredited institution. Credentials or certifications in health education specialties. Position Type Permanent Full‑Time Reporting Reports to the Department Head, Integrated and Environmental Health Sciences.
