Intensive Care Unit - ICU RN - Travel Nurse Join to apply for the Intensive Care Unit - ICU RN - Travel Nurse role at TotalMed . We’re looking for Intensive Care Unit RNs for an immediate travel nurse opening in Kingwood, TX. The right nurse should have 1‑2 years recent acute care experience. Responsibilities Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment. Order and evaluate diagnostic tests. Take samples for lab work, order corresponding lab work, and interpret reports. Monitor and adjust specialized equipment, and interpret and record electronic displays. Ensure proper placement and functioning of catheters, leads, and tubing. Communicate patients' conditions to family members. Provide basic bedside care. Qualifications Requirements: ACLS, BLS, NIH, 1 year of recent acute care experience. Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment. Physical requirements: ability to stand and walk for long periods, lift and transfer patients weighing up to 20 pounds routinely and up to 50 pounds occasionally, and handle hazards from exposure to chemicals or infectious diseases.
