Registered Nurse Supervisor- Labor & Delivery

Job Overview Labor & Delivery Nursing – Full-time, 36 hours per week, 7:00 pm–7:00 am shifts, rotating weekends. Pay range: $44.15–$66.25 per hour. Location: Atrium Health Pineville Labor & Delivery unit. About the Unit Atrium Health Pineville Labor & Delivery is a 12‑bed unit that delivers approximately 2,800 babies per year. The unit provides care for low‑to‑high‑risk patients including those on magnesium for pre‑term labor or pre‑eclampsia. 4‑bed triage, 2 OR suites, and 2 PACU bays are available. The unit is a teamwork‑focused environment with opportunities to grow and learn new skills, including courses in Spinning Babies, Bundle Birth, fetal monitoring, and OB ACLS. Responsibilities Direct provision of patient care for laboring and antepartum patients. Assist the manager with daily operations, including coordination of patient care and outcomes, allocation of human and fiscal resources, patient throughput, program development, and oversight. Conduct patient, physician, and employee rounding. Select, develop, and retain staff; provide clinical supervision and performance appraisal. Engage in performance improvement activities, service recovery, and compliance with regulatory agency requirements. Maintain clinical and professional competency appropriate to the patient population. Qualifications Accredited nursing program graduate (BSN required). Registered Nurse license issued by the state of practice. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association. Minimum two years of nursing experience; previous management experience preferred. BSN candidates (external hire or internal promotion without BSN) must be enrolled in a BSN program within one year of hire/transfer and complete the program within three years. Professional certification (clinical or leadership) required within one year of eligibility for exam. Additional education, training, certifications, or experience may be required by the nurse leader.
