Senior Systems Engineer

Job TitleLockheed Martin is dedicated to engineering, developing, and integrating new capabilities for the Missile Defense System that protects the United States and its allies.This position will perform some or all of the following duties, concentrating on early-phase (concept, requirements, and design) activities of the Systems-Engineering Development Lifecycle:Lead the development of new system concepts by transforming stakeholder needs into technical approaches.Perform requirements elicitation and decomposition using behavioral artifacts.Lead the development of physical and logical system models utilizing Model-Based Systems Engineering approaches.Lead system interface development by converting system and interface requirements into message-level details.Support engineering technical reviews.Create, review and critique interface documents, system requirements, verification documentation, architectural documentation, and engineering estimates.Interface with key stakeholders, including the MDA customer and working-level counterparts.Participate in Agile development planning and execution.Please Note:This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. Citizen for consideration.The role will involve approximately 10% travel to customer sites throughout the U.S.Why Join Us:Excellent benefits and amenities.Ongoing career development and support.Rewards and recognition for your hard work.Medical and dental coverage.401k retirement savings plan.Paid time off for work/life balance.Mentorship opportunities.Basic Qualifications:A final secret clearance is required for consideration.Experience in an integrated team, covering the full Systems Engineering Development Lifecycle.Experience interacting directly with customers to elicit needs and define requirements.Hands on work with missile defense, space defense, or other similar space mission elements.Proficiency in Model Based Systems Engineering using tools such as Cameo.Desired Skills:Strong prior experience with use of MSOSA (Cameo) and DOORS.Demonstrated experience modeling or simulating missile defense applications or similar domains.Knowledge of ballistic and advanced threat systems.Modeling and analysis experience in aspects of the missile defense system.Systems engineering experience with large, complex systems.Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice.Pay Information:Full-Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
