PACU/preop RN Ambulatory Surgery Center

Schedule Part‑time (eligible for full‑time benefits!), 32 hours/week, four 8‑hour shifts with occasional late coverage day. Rotating start times between a window of 6:00 AM‑7:00 AM. Monday‑Friday, no call, no holidays, no weekends. No set scheduling; a day off each week is assigned by the unit on a 6‑week time tract and will vary week to week. Department Pre‑op/Post‑op and cross‑trained to PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit). Requirements Prior pre‑op or PACU experience required. In lieu of pre‑op/PACU, a strong critical care background is required. ASC experience strongly preferred. Location Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), 1730 Kernersville Medical Parkway, Kernersville, North Carolina. Unit Info Service lines consist mainly of ophthalmology, ortho, pain management, and podiatry cases. See phase 1 and phase 2 patients. What You’ll Do The Registered Nurse ASC is expected to work in a primary nursing area for the center, functioning as a team member in an ASC environment through cross‑training to other primary areas, including but not limited to assisting with turnover and all other aspects of day‑to‑day ASC operations. He/she is also responsible for coordinating the telephone pre‑admission assessment process for patients in the ASC environment. What We’re Looking For Education: 2‑Year / Associate Degree, required; graduate of an accredited school of nursing. 4‑Year / Bachelor’s Degree, preferred. Experience: One year of ASC, PACU, or operating room experience, preferred. Licensure / Certification: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required. ACLS and PALS, preferred. Additional Skills: Must have a thorough understanding of the role of RN and the ability to carry out the functions as stated in the appropriate relevant state nurse practice act. Ability to set priorities and organize workload of unit. Knowledge and skills necessary to modify care according to patient’s age. Ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to age‑specific needs. Proficient in telephone screening and interviewing skills.
