GENERAL FUNCTION  

Diagnose electrical and control malfunctions and difficulties and make repairs or adjustments as needed. Perform testing, installation, replacement or modification of components. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Install and maintain electrical system of the plant to provide power for machines, equipment, lighting, facilities and other electrical apparatus and gear 
• Comply with all codes, regulations and safety specifications
• Maintain controls, values, and calibrations to make sure everything is functioning properly
• Diagnose, isolate and correct electrical troubles involving repair and replacement of controls, motors, switches, PLC, servo drives, variable frequency drives, distributed control systems, instrumentations, re-routing of circuits and distribution center to balance load on AC and DC power systems
• Make emergency repairs when necessary to off-set excessive down time and production delays
• Use instructions or manuals on installations, systems layout, and changeovers to complete project work
• Other maintenance duties as assigned and required
• Observe all safety precautions especially lock, tag and try
• Ability to work under pressure
• Responsible for observing all plant standard operating procedures and safety policies
• Responsible for teamwork communication with production operators and supervisors
• Must wear appropriate PPE at all times
• Understand plant environmental and safety policies
• Participate in training programs to enhance environmental and safety performance
• Perform assigned tasks as specified in the environmental procedures and work instructions
• Understand the significant environmental impacts of my job activities and the consequences of departing from specified work instructions
• Know where EHS documents are located
• Must have initiative and exhibit good judgment
• Must perform with safe work practices at all times

Mental and physical requirements (must be able to perform the following without limitation): 

• Physical dexterity: lifting, bending, squatting, reaching, etc. 
• Ability to climb on ladders to heights of over 10’  
• Standing 
• Sitting 
• Reading for information 
• Equipment troubleshooting

PROBLEM-SOLVING  

• Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks quickly
• Must be able to determine minute differences quickly
• Must be able to concentrate and think clearly in a distracting environment
• Must be able to effectively diagnose and solve problems

KNOWLEDGE

• High school diploma or GED required
• Degree in Electrical Engineering/Mechatronics (Preferred)
• Must be able to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings
• Must have knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic equipment
• Must have advanced knowledge of electricity 
• Must have basic knowledge of electronics
• Must possess well-developed observation skills
• Must know how to work well on a team
• Experience with Studio 5000 version 24 or higher

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS  

• Participation in safety committees or activities is encouraged
• Multi-tasking skills are extremely important
• Production and work tasks move at a very fast pace
• If the I/E Technician on site is not available to perform the job, the position is backed up by another I/E Technician on call

• 7pm-7am (3 on, 3 off) AVAILABLE
• 7am-7pm (3 on, 3 off) TBD
• 7am-3:30pm (Mon-Fri) TBD
