Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)

The Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) position is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care in the surgical department. This role requires a versatile individual who can float between units and contribute to various aspects of patient care, including pre-operative and post-operative procedures, circulating duties, and recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with surgical teams in a fast-paced environment across multiple specialties.
• Perform nursing duties in the pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) settings.
• Ensure the safety and comfort of patients throughout their surgical experience.
• Utilize Epic as the electronic medical record (EMR) system for patient documentation and management.

Requirements:

• Experience in operating room settings, covering a variety of specialties including OBGYN, Orthopedics, Gastroenterology/General Surgery, ENT, Pain Management, and Dental.
• Ability to work in a flexible schedule with variable call requirements.
• Availability to work weekends, with a commitment to every 3rd or 4th weekend based on rotation and time off requests.
• Expected nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:4, depending on unit needs.
• Willingness to float between units as needed.
• Two-room OR experience is preferred.

Scheduling Details:

• This position offers a 5-day workweek consisting of 8-hour shifts, with opportunities for 10-hour shifts (4 days/week) based on operational needs.
• Block scheduling requirements are currently unknown.
