Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Optician role based in Dayton, OH. The Optician will assist patients in selecting and fitting eyewear, including frames and lenses, based on prescriptions and lifestyle needs. Daily responsibilities include interpreting optical prescriptions, advising on lens options and coatings, measuring and adjusting frames for proper fit, and ensuring accurate orders with optical labs. The Optician will work closely with optometrists to support patient flow, maintain inventory of frames and accessories, and handle basic repairs and adjustments to eyewear. The role also involves providing clear, respectful communication, promoting high standards of customer service, and contributing to an organized, efficient clinic environment. Qualifications Strong knowledge of optics, including lens types, materials, and optical calculations. Experience in optometry or an eye care setting, supporting eye exams and vision correction services. Demonstrated commitment to customer service and customer satisfaction in a patient-facing role. Ability to conduct precise measurements, fit and adjust eyewear, and coordinate with optical labs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain options clearly to patients. Attention to detail, accuracy in handling prescriptions, and strong organizational skills. Previous optician experience or formal optical training; certification or licensure is preferred where applicable.
