What you’ll bring:

• Valid LBS1 licensure, required for teaching Special Education in Illinois
• Previous experience or strong interest in serving primary-aged students, particularly K-1st grade
• Understanding of individualized instructional methods and differentiated learning strategies
• Collaborative mindset for working with school staff, families, and related service providers
• Dedication to maintaining a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
• Excellent organizational and communication skills

What you’ll do:

• Lead a self-contained K-1 primary classroom, delivering tailored instruction to support each student’s unique learning goals
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations
• Use evidence-based strategies to foster academic, social, and behavioral growth
• Track and document student progress, adjusting instruction as needed to enhance learning outcomes
• Foster trust and rapport with students, families, and members of the school team
• Maintain consistent routines while adapting to the needs of the class throughout the school day
