Job Description
Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) Shift Details
- Days/Evenings
- Four 10-hour shifts per week
- Hours: 0630 - 1700
- Active Washington State or Compact RN Licensure required
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC required
- Adherence to established policies and unit standards
- Understanding of the Washington Nurse Practice Act and legal aspects of nursing
- Experience with craniotomy and retina procedures
- Coordinate and provide high-quality patient care with compassion, utilizing the nursing process and unit-specific standards
- Develop, implement, and reassess individualized patient care plans
- Administer medications and perform nursing procedures and treatments
- Evaluate discharge plans for appropriateness and educational needs
- Document assessments, plans of care, interventions, and responses accurately
- Collect necessary patient information to ensure safe, high-quality care
- Conduct ongoing holistic assessments and respond appropriately to changes in patient status
- Determine and take appropriate nursing actions to meet the physical, psychological, social, and rehabilitative needs of patients
- Provide education to patients and families regarding appropriate health information and share written materials
- Maintain current knowledge of workflows, processes, and evidence-based practices
- Delegate tasks and oversee care provided by non-licensed assistive personnel
- Participate in performance evaluation and improvement processes
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with the healthcare team
- Ensure a clean and safe environment for patients and staff in accordance with unit policies
- Availability to take call as required
- Ability to float to assist as a sitter and in other capacities as needed
