CASHIER

Job Summary As a Cashier, you will serve as the face of our company, highlighting our brand and contributing to our reputation. You will assist customers, help them recognize the need for our products and services, and articulate our purpose in an educational, insightful, and professional manner. Duties and Responsibilities Proactively engage and connect with customers. Ask questions and listen to customer needs. Direct customers to merchandise and inform them about promotions, events, mobile offers, and the STAR card. Provide premier customer service and build inclusive, respectful relationships. Maintain checkout area appearance and restock bags, packaging materials, and labels. Interact with customers to ensure they find everything they need. Suggest the latest trends and current promotions based on customer needs. Use a point‑of‑sale system to process cash exchanges, discounts, gift cards, credit cards, and debit cards, including counting money and making accurate change. Maintain change funds and accounts for sales receipts. Complete paperwork, reports, and reconciliation. Perform inventory processes, ensuring merchandise is properly checked in, ticketed, and participate in periodic inventories. Adhere to assigned work schedule and complete work assignments accurately and completely. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Product knowledge and knowledge of point‑of‑sale systems. Retail or related work experience (preferred). Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents. Proficiency in basic math functions, ability to calculate percentages, and make change in U.S. monetary units. Ability to multitask, remain attentive to customers, work as part of a team, and take initiative independently. No experience required; high school graduate or equivalent preferred. Physical Demands / Work Environment Constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, and standing for at least two consecutive hours. May involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing ladders, and lifting 25–50 lbs. Work performed indoors, occasionally outdoors. Other Skills Enthusiastic, friendly, energetic, with a desire to provide outstanding service. Work Hours Available to work a variety of hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Flexible (0–19.5 hours).
