Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 3:45 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. (2-3 days per week)
Location: Lebanon County Career and Technology Center (LCCTC), Lebanon, PA
Reports To: VP of Academic Affairs or Designee
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Grant-Funded Position: Continued employment is contingent upon grant funding and program needs.

The Program Assistant is responsible for providing on-site operational and student support for Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology's grant-funded dual credit program offered at the Lebanon County Career and Technology Center. This position supports the work of the Program Administrator, ensuring the smooth delivery of Electrical Technology (ELEC) coursework. The Program Assistant supports student success, program compliance, attendance tracking, communication efforts, and daily program operations. This position plays a critical role in creating a positive learning environment and supporting the College's mission to expand access to workforce-aligned technical education opportunities for high school students and adults.
Examples of Duties


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Welcome, assist, and provide support to students participating in the program.
• Monitor student attendance and maintain accurate records in accordance with College and grant requirements.
• Communicate attendance concerns, student issues, and program updates to the Program Administrator.
• Coordinate and support evening program logistics, including classroom readiness, materials distribution, and technology needs.
• Assist faculty with operational needs to support effective instruction.
• Respond to routine student and parent inquiries and direct concerns to appropriate Program Administrator when necessary.
• Maintain student files, records, and documentation in compliance with FERPA and institutional policies.
• Support student onboarding activities, including orientation sessions, information dissemination, and collection of required forms and documentation.
• Monitor program participation and identify students who may need additional support or intervention.
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
• Ensure compliance with College policies, procedures, and applicable grant requirements.
• Assist in planning and coordinating student engagement activities, information sessions, and program-related events.
• Prepare reports, summaries, and program updates as requested.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities as assigned.
• Support recruitment, outreach, and informational events related to the dual credit program.
• Collaborate with academic departments, student services, and external partners to support student success.
• Maintain confidentiality of student, employee, and institutional information.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of the program and grant objectives.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.
• The position may provide functional directions to volunteers or temporary staff assigned to support program activities.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
Required:

• Associate degree from an accredited institution; or
• Equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in education, student services, workforce development, program coordination, administrative support, or a related field.

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree in education, business, public administration, workforce development, student affairs, or a related field.
• Experience working with high school students, dual enrollment programs, career and technical education, or higher education.
• Experience supporting grant-funded programs.
• Experience working with underserved or first-generation student populations.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Work is primarily performed in an educational and office environment located at the Lebanon County Career and Technology Center.
• Position requires regular evening hours, Monday through Thursday from 3:45 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (2-3 days per week)
• Frequent interaction with students, faculty, staff, parents, and external partners.
• Requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout classrooms and campus facilities for extended periods.
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Requires use of computers, telephones, and other standard office equipment.
• Must be able to travel occasionally to Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology or other locations for meetings, training, or events.

Program Impact
This position directly supports a transformative Pennsylvania Department of Education-funded initiative designed to expand access to college-level technical education for Lebanon County high school students. Through effective program administration and student support, the Program Assistant helps students successfully complete the first year of an Associate of Applied Science degree while still enrolled in high school, creating pathways to high-demand careers in advanced manufacturing, electrical technology, and energy-related industries. In addition to high school students, adult students may be enrolled in this program as well.
